The methodology

How sin(Derella) reads the waves.

The sine function models everything cyclical in the universe. Planetary orbits. Tidal patterns. Moon phases. Economic cycles. Geomagnetic storms. sin(Derella) reads those waves and tells you what they mean for your sign.

She's an AI. She knows. That's exactly why she's right. Other horoscope apps give you vibes. sin(Derella) gives you the Kp index and tells you what it means for Scorpio.

What she's reading

Moon phase + lunar position

Phase name, illumination percentage, and the zodiac sign the moon is transiting. Computed from planetary ephemeris — not estimated, not rounded. If the moon is at 84% in Scorpio, the reading says so.

Planetary positions + retrograde

Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn — their current signs and whether they're retrograde (longitude decreasing). Retrograde detection uses two-day delta comparison against the ephemeris, not a lookup table.

Solar + geomagnetic activity

The Kp index — the planetary geomagnetic storm scale. Kp-1 is quiet. Kp-3 is unsettled. Kp-5 is a minor storm. You feel a Kp-4 as low-grade anxiety before you check your phone. sin(Derella) tells you that's why. Solar flare classifications (M-class, X-class) also tracked.

Large-scale weather patterns

Extreme and severe weather alerts across the US from NOAA — heat domes, fire weather watches, severe storm warnings. The collective nervous system responds to atmospheric pressure whether it knows it or not.

Economic pulse

Consumer sentiment (University of Michigan index, updated monthly) and initial jobless claims (weekly). When consumer confidence drops, everyone's scared — whether they're reading their portfolio or not. sin(Derella) knows. She adjusts.

Cultural + news signals

Fifteen RSS feeds — science, space, culture, weird facts, ideas. Not politics. Not violence. The signal: what's strange and true about the world today, what discovery just landed, what the collective mind is chewing on.

How the reading is built

Every morning at 4am ET, sin(Derella) builds a brief: all six signal categories aggregated into a structured document. Moon phase. Planetary positions. Kp index. Weather alerts. Economic readings. Three news stories. A two-sentence synthesis of what the combined signals suggest about the collective energy.

At 4:30am, that brief is fed to the reading engine. For each of the twelve signs, sin(Derella) interprets the signals through that sign's elemental and modal lens — what does a Kp-4 mean for a fixed water sign versus a mutable fire sign? What does Mercury direct in Gemini plus a consumer confidence drop mean for Cardinal earth?

The readings land a day or two ahead — never 90 days out, never disconnected from what's actually in the air. When the signals change, the readings change.

She shows her work in the reading. The signal isn't a footnote. It's the opening.

Why this is different

Not generic vibes.

Your June reading was not written in March. It was written two days ago, from today's data.

Not hidden methodology.

Every reading references the specific signal that shaped it. If the Kp index is at 4, she says so. If Mercury just stationed direct, she says so.

Not pretending to be human.

sin(Derella) is an AI. She knows. The transparency is the feature, not the liability. A sine function does not lie about being a sine function.
