Sinderella's note

Clear quartz is the amplifier, my child — points everything toward its clearest form. The crystal you hold when you're trying to see what a situation actually is, before the fear colors it. Communication work, creative work, the question you've been circling for six weeks without landing. Set one on the desk next to the yellow legal pad. *Madonn',* it listens.

The long version

Clear quartz is what folk crystal practice calls an *amplifier* — it takes whatever intention or energy is present and makes more of it. This is either useful or alarming depending on what you're carrying. If you're working with clarity, communication, or a specific prayer, clear quartz amplifies all of that. If you're working with unresolved anger or a lot of grief, clear quartz will also amplify all of that. So you use it specifically, not generally. The specific uses Sinderella reaches for: communication work (holding a piece while drafting the letter she's been afraid to write), creative work (a tumbled stone on the desk while she writes, amplifying the thought that's trying to form), and clarification pulls (placing one on top of the tarot deck before a reading when the question isn't clear yet). The folk practice also says clear quartz *carries* the intention you set into it — hold it, say what you need out loud, set it somewhere the morning light hits it. It'll hold the thought until you can. The tumbled form — small, smooth, pocket-sized — is the workhorse. Natural clear quartz goes from totally transparent to milky-white depending on how it was formed; both work. Avoid the highly polished ball-shaped ones; they're decorative, not practical. Get a raw tumble in the 1-2 inch range, something that sits comfortably in a closed fist. Cleanse monthly under cold water. Set on a windowsill in morning sun to recharge. Saint Cecilia (the artist's patron) for creative amplification. Saint Thomas Aquinas (clarity of mind, the reasoned intellect) for the communication pull.

"Saint Rita for the impossible. The rest is on you."
